IMPROVE YOUR GAME
THE INTERNET IS HELPING KIDS IMPROVE THEIR GAME FOR A MULTITUDE OF REASONS. WEBSITES LIKE YOUTUBE, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, AND FACEBOOK ARE ALLOWING KIDS AT ANY AGE IMPROVE THEIR GAME. TUTORIAL VIDEOS ON HOW TO DO MOVES AND IMPROVE YOUR GAME CAN BE FOUND ANYWHERE ACROSS THESE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS, AND KIDS ARE USING THEM TO THEIR ADVANTAGE.

THE INTERNET HAS CHANGED THE GAME
“People watch videos and you rep them out so much, they become habit. You go out into the game and can use that Steph Curry move that I learned on Instagram,” says Jalen Pickett, an 18-year-old who played for the Aquinas Institute in Rochester. “I feel like Instagram and Twitter have helped me become a better player because of just the fact that other ballplayers put out videos of drills and stuff” (Lorenz).
“In comparison to twenty years ago, I would have to say that basketball as a whole is definitely better because of the internet. The top players whether in high school or college or the NBA are probably similar skill levels to those twenty years ago, but the players you would consider to be average in today's basketball are definitely better than average players twenty years ago” (Kaufman)

INTERVIEW WITH
NBA TRAINER
CHAUNCEY BECKETT
“Social media has helped basketball because kids can use the internet to breakdown professionals and use film study to benefit their game” (Beckett).
“Kids can watch professional trainers breakdown moves like pick and roll sets on their phones. I would say that this is a huge thing for any young kid trying to grow as a player” (Beckett).
